Sonnets from the Infrastructure

Sonnets from the Infrastructure

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we present this offering based on the deep affection for datacenters we hear about when we talk to IT infrastructure folks in the 451 Alliance.

Oh datacenter,

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

I love thee to the depth and breadth and height

My network spans, VM’s beyond my sight,

With each and every chassis, box and case.

I love thee as available nights and days

That prove to all computing’s power and might.

I love thee greenly as we use sun’s light

And air to run and cool our equipment maze.

I love thee with each terabyte we must lose

To store old files, though we have every faith

That these are files no one will ever use

At all. And I will sing your praises loud;

Whatever venue business units choose,

I shall but love thee better – but there’s cloud …

Happy Valentine’s Day, from the 451 Alliance!
